Managing a successful team
Trevor is originally from South Taranaki. He initially worked for AMP Society, his father’s drainage company, then for Shell NZ Ltd for 22 years. At Shell, Trevor was principally involved in sales and marketing roles including territory management, and property and development during the period of the oil industry deregulation. The latter roles involved negotiation, planning and strategy and successfully liaising with and managing many groups of people.
In 1998, Trevor commenced real estate as a residential sales consultant in Tauranga. The market was very challenging for many years after that point, but Trevor emerged with achieving the Company’s “Millionaire Sales Achiever” in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Late 2003, Trevor sought a management position and successfully transferred to manage Eves Rotorua. In 2008, he transferred to Eves Mt Maunganui, managing that branch for 8 years and gaining the prestigious Company “Top Office” award. In 2016, Trevor took the opportunity to transfer to Eves Papamoa, that branch being perfectly located at the hub of the growth in Papamoa.
At the heart of Trevor’s management style is an excellent knowledge and experience of real estate law, patient and expert negotiation skills (he is part of the Company auction negotiation team), decisive and consistent leadership within the branch, top level of customer service and strong work ethic. In short, when you are buying or selling in Papamoa, you need to have Trevor in the background assisting your chosen Eves salesperson.
If you are thinking of a career in real estate in Papamoa, Trevor must be the manager you talk with.
Along with his wife, Heather, Trevor is a keen walker in the early mornings, and keeps in close contact with their 3 adult sons and grandchildren.

When I first walked into Eves Mount, Trevor took a punt on me. He saw something in me that gave me the confidence to fight to be a master of my craft, but above all, do it in a ethical, educated and committed way. His unwavering support always went beyond my business. He has my back regardless of it being professional or personal. The more I have honed my craft, the more my requirements of my manager has changed. I've got most of it under control, and the things I don't, Trevor does. His knowledge, discretion, utter professionalism and support needs to be cloned.
Trust is earned, but Trev does not take too much to allow that. It's in his DNA.
I am eternally grateful to have had the "safest pair of hands" a rookie could ask for and these days, a robust sounding board for a girl that has a bit more experience under her belt. Any person's work ethic and morals are always going to be influenced by the people you respect, and I'm grateful that Trevor was, and is that person for myself and my team. Plus, he knows so much more about real estate than I ever will. I'll forever be grateful for him being one of the most unsung heroes of my professional achievements. He's got my back, every time. Thanks Trev (and Heather for your patience with my phone calls).Charlotte Gardner - Salesperson, Eves Papamoa

Confidentiality is vital when dealing with many salespeople and their clients. Trevor can be trusted to respect and preserve the details of a confidential transaction.
Trevor is a senior and well seasoned real estate professional. He often uses practical examples and solutions that other managers may not. He has honed his skill at reading titles and covenants and is well respected as the go to person on complex looking titles.
He is a skillful negotiator, clear thinker and has the uncanny ability to pull a deal together. In the auction room, it is common knowledge that "if Trevor cannot get a deal together, then it's unlikely anyone can".
Regarding supervision and management, Trevor has a very calming nature and technique, that few others display. Trevor's approach is something that salespeople respect and it creates a certain connection that results in salespeople excelling because of the support that Trevor provides. He addresses any issues verbally and in person to resolve matters.
Trevor is always available to provide an answer, offer advice or a solution.
